Tata is a love interest in the book And the Haze Will Take Us.
About Tata[]
Tata is a dancer and best friend of Vereya, Lada's twin sister.
At the beginning of the story, Lada and Tata are not close, only occasionally meeting through Lada's twin sister Vereya. Tata is always friendly to everyone around her, but she appears to be pretending, her real self seeming lifeless and lonely. She only lights up when she speaks to her friend Vereya.
Tata lives in a simple house with a sagging roof and a broken porch. She grew up there with her adoptive grandmother Nura, a woman with a sharp gaze and tongue, but kind eyes and warm hands. It's unclear where Nura found Tata when she was still a baby; on her deathbed, even Nura herself confessed that she doesn't know. Ever since her grandmother died a few years ago, Tata does all the work and takes care of the house as best as she can, but time and poverty have taken their toll. Some people from the village call her "no one's girl" because she has no family.
After Vereya's death, Tata is convinced that someone murdered her and starts working with Lada to find the people responsible. Lada begins to have feelings for Tata and impulsively kisses her when they are alone. Tata reacts confused and distances herself.

Trivia[]
- The author decribes Tata as follows: She has a delicate figure, petite, like a doll. She seems gentle, but there is sharpness in her gaze, an inner pain. She is the main dancer in the village. She is popular, gets along well with everyone, and is the kind of person who will always try to smooth things over. She will be an ally in your search for answers. She understands better than most what it means to lose someone you love, and maybe she will be the one to heal your wounds.[1]
