He is the supreme epistates and the leader of the squad of hunters whose duty is to hunt down and capture shesmu. He is traveling to Thebes to root out the cause of the disease, stopping in Hermopolis to enlist the aid of healers and others from the temple of Thoth.

Isman
He is training as a healer at the temple of Thoth, he is eager to help with the disease ravaging Thebes. He is the best friend of Eva, acting as an older brother like figure to her after his family took her in as a child.
Dia
A friend of Eva, she is also a student of Oneiromancy at the Temple of Thoth. She comes from a wealthy family who paid for her education before she turned to dark magic, enticed to the craft by a former lover.
Remmao
A priest at the temple of Thoth in Hermopolis, he also trains select students to become shesmu. He is the mentor to Eva, Dia, and his younger brother Ramesses.
Theonoe
A young woman from a wealthy family, she works as Livius' assistant. She enlists Eva to help her sever her romantic feelings for Livius.
Titian
A hunter who serves under Amen. He shows romantic interest in Herse who works as Livius' assistant. You can help assist him in getting together with her.
Asenath
A young woman from Hermopolis who Eva helps.
Ako
A butcher in Hermopolis, he is cruel towards animals and people alike.
Menes II
The pharaoh of Egypt, he has banned the use of "dark magic" by anyone except high priests.
Keladon
The overseer of the camp in Thebes. He and Neith, the weaver, have a flirtatious relationship.
Neith
A weaver in Thebes who makes and sells clothes and other goods in the camp. She and Keladon, the overseer, have a flirtatious relationship.
Herse
Livius' trusted assistant. Titian is romantically interested in her.
Hathorut
Evthys' mother, who hated her daughter.
