Simon Cook is one of the endgame love interests in the series Moonborn.
Biography
Simon is a human, and works as photographer for the Supernatural Daily. He is quite shy but courts Mia from the very first moment he meets her in Season 1 Episode 2. He's actually the first love interest to be introduced in the story. Mia and Trisha are at a café, chatting, and he overhears them discussing supernatural events and introduces himself.
Simon comes from a small town and has been raised by his mum ever since his parents' divorce when he was a young child. His father was not part of his life. He started working young, and his hobby as a photographer soon became a profession so he moved to the city.
Personality
Simon can be quite anxious and apprehensive but if you pick him as love interest for Mia he can also be very thoughtful, caring and loving. His route might not be as exciting as others, and his hyperventilating tendencies definitely need some close management, but his diamond scenes, although quite sparse, have hidden depths and surprisingly intense emotional moments, and his ending is very sweet.
Simon's anxiety mostly comes from the fact that Mia never shares more than the bare essential information about her life, her whereabouts and the events that are happening to her. If Mia does not reciprocate his feelings, he is unable to maintain a friendship with her, so you only see the real Simon if you actively engage in a romantic relationship with him.
Relationships
- Mia: They can be friends or in a relationship depending on the player's choices.
- The journalists at the Supernatural Daily magazine where he works are his colleagues and friends.
- He has a mother he is very close with.
Trivia
- Simon gets invited to be the official photographer for the Golden Adams, the equivalent of the Oscar Ceremony in the book My Hollywood Story.
- If they are in a relationship, Mia has a habit of ruffling his hair.

How the dialogue goes depends on too many variables to list them all, based both on which path you are ( Diplomacy 🕊️ or Fortitude 💪 ) and on whether you have also been romancing Max/Victor or you haven't. On a Simon-only path, Mia will hug him and tell him that Max/Victor is only an acquaintance. Simon will get slightly jealous of Max/Victor's car but Mia will reassure him that nothing is going on between them. She asks Simon to stop being jealous and kisses him on the cheek. He smiles. During the final battle, Simon will not be in danger if Mia threatened Stella into leaving the city in Season 3, Episode 1; If Mia did not scare Stella, she will join the fight and attack Simon. If Mia's reputation with the vampires is high, Stella will bite Simon but Sofia will arrive and bandage his neck, saving Simon's life. If Mia's reputation with the vampires is not high enough, Simon will be killed by Stella. Possible endings for Simon
Simon has three possible endings based on your choices throughout the book.
- He dies, attacked by Stella. If you did not scare Stella into leaving town in Season 3, Episode 1, she will take part in the final battle and attack Simon.
- He survives, despite being attacked by Stella. If you did not scare Stella into leaving town, but your reputation with the vampires is high, Sofia will see Simon lying on the floor hurt and stop to bandage him, saving his life. To get a high vampire reputation, check the choices on the walkthrough that have a little bat icon next to them or check Mia's character page for a full summary list.
- He survives, and is never attacked. If you scared Stella into leaving town, Simon's life is never in danger.
- Of course Simon's ending also differs if you decide to romance him or not. If you don't romance him, you won't see him again after the final battle but only hear that he is doing well with his photography. If you are romancing him, Mia will go meet his mum and will tell him she loves him back.
