About Seong-hwa[]

Seong-hwa is a K-pop idol. He's the leader and lead vocolist of the boy group X-EVO, managed by PJK Entertainment.

He is a confident, driven and respectful man, albeit very private and rather introverted. Rumors say that his biological mother left him which turns out to be true: As a baby, Seong-hwa's mother abandoned him and he ended up in an orphanage until he was adopted. Seong-hwa explains to Luna, a fellow idol, that he enjoyed growing up in a big family, surrounded by brothers and sisters. He loves them very much and feels for Luna when she opens up to him after losing her sister. In total, Seong-hwa has four siblings: two of them were also adopted before his mother unexpectant got pregnant with twins.

Seong-hwa's group X-EVO is very popular and has an impeccable reputation, not least because of their member's angelic appearances. They always top the charts and have a huge fanbase. Because of that, Seong-hwa constantly feels a lot of pressure on his shoulders and trains hard, hiding any bruises and signs of exhaustion with the help of makeup and masks.

After he and Luna become a couple at the end of the first season, they try to keep their relationship a secret while spending as much time together as they can. Despite often thinking of himself as being insecure in a lot of ways, Seong-hwa is shown to be surprisingly bold when it comes to Luna, his dreams and desires.

While Luna investigates the deaths of her twin sister and another fellow idol, she finds out that Seong-hwa has had his fair share of dealing with stalkers and obsessive fans. One night when he and his group were leaving the agency, a fan attacked him with a knife and left a scar on his elbow. Another time, Seong-hwa was taken to a separate photoshoot for an ad campaign when he noticed a car chasing them the whole way, trying to get close by making dangerous maneuvers. Thankfully, his driver managed to outmaneuver the pursuer and they got away. The most recent incident happened a year ago when a fan stalked Seong-hwa for quite a while. At first, he just hid in the shadows, but then he started sending threatening letters, writing about things that even Dean and Woo-jin didn’t know. Despite this negative experiences, Seong-hwa is supportive of Luna's investigation and tries to help her where he can, even teaching her self-defense.
