Samuel Makoto is a love interest in the book Chasing You 2.
About Samuel Makoto[]
Samuel is a Japanese man investigating a matter of national importance on behalf of the Emperor himself. As it turns out, geishas have been kidnapped from different tea houses and brought to England. The case was assigned to Sam who arrived from Japan two months ago, but despite the personal request of the Japanese Emperor, the English police doesn’t want to help him.
At the beginning of the story, Sam meets Agatha at a ball where they witness a mysterious death. He suspects a connection to his case and sticks around after Agatha, her companion Eve, Duke Alexander Clarance, his sister Rachel of Wales and their friend Ellia start their own investigation into the murder. In the end, they are able to identify the culprit and close the case.
In the second Season, Sam admits that he is actually an exiled felon. Back in Japan he killed a government official, an absive and dishonerable man, who was also a distant relative of the Emperor. As a way to redeem himself, the Emperor offered Sam a chance to solve the case of the missing geishas - in a year, Sam has to find out where the women are and who's behind their kidnappning. If he fails, his death sentence will be carried out. While investigating the planned murder of the police commissioner, Sam and Agatha find out that the Japanese women are gifted to rich men and used for information. Suspecting that one of the geishas was drowned by the son of a Viscount, he loses his temper attacks the man, nearly killing him in the process.
