The Rebel is a character in the book The Desert Rose.

About The Rebel[]

The Rebel is first seen by Yasmin while giving a speech in the square. Yasmin is immediately captivated by him and stops to watch. He is angry about her father and his oppressive leadership in Sefer. It is clear that by this point, The Rebel has managed to accumulate a very large following and the people are rallying with him. At some point during the speech, Yasmin feels like he is directing his message toward her even though she is convinced he doesn't know who she is. Her suspicions are confirmed when he stands in front of her to give her a flower as the police arrive.

Throughout Season 1, the Rebel is seen a few more times, somehow managing to evade arrest. At the end of the day of Yasmin's wedding, The Rebel arrives at Yasmin's house and kidnaps her. He makes it clear he has no intention of hurting her, he only wants her on their side. After he speaks with her, the police arrive again and he releases her in order to send the police after him instead of her.

Season 1, Episode 12 he will show up again to help Yasmin when she's being attacked in the street. As she wakes up in a familiar tent, the Rebel's identity is revealed. How close Yasmin is to Adil will determine who walks into the tent as the Rebel. If you are romancing Adil, he will walk in. If you are only friendly will Adil, Rajab will walk in. If you are not close with Adil, Madi will walk in. Whoever talks to Yasmin will tell her that Adil has been the original Rebel but that Madi and Rajab had planned to take over if Adil was executed when he got arrested. No matter who you speak to they will urge Yasmin to run and, if you kept the flower in Episode 2, they will tell you that Saleh suspects you and that your fate will depend on Zain's support.
