Chevalier Philippe of Lorraine is a casual love interest in the book Vying for Versailles.

About Philippe[]

Chevalier Philippe is part of Prince Philippe's retinue. Renée meets him in a small village before she joins the Sun Court.

Philippe is said to be "a lover to many" and appears rather flirty. However, he seems jealous of everyone Prince Philippe is interested in and claims that his heart belongs to the Prince. They have been together for seven years, first starting an affair when they lived together with Prince Philippe's then-fiancée Henrietta in the Palais-Royale.

The Chevalier is willing to engage in a polyamorous relationship and will respect other lovers, but he needs Prince Philippe in his life. Over time, Renée gets to see his vulnerable and caring side if she chooses to become closer with him and the Prince.
