Marcel is a love interest in the book Theodora.
About Marcel[]
Marcel is a researcher working on his PhD thesis in Theology. He and Theodora meet at the National Library in Paris when they both show interest in the same book. Marcel explains that he wants to write about demonology, a topic he's very enthusiastic about. He helps Theodora with her research and they start to enjoy each others company more and more. After witnessing a fight between Theodora's demon friend or lover John and Guardian Darius, Marcel learns about the existance of demons and shows an almost childlike excitement about being involved with them. He agrees to support them with his knowledge and becomes part of the group. Together, they all start to meet up at a secluded house in the woods where John trains Theodora to control her demonic energy.
Marcel comes across as a genuine person, honest with himself and those around him. After meeting Theodora again and inviting her to the Louvre, he shares that he was born in Paris and wouldn't wanna leave the city because living there feels like being "in his element". Marcel speaks a bit Portugese since his father is from Cape Verde, a place Marcel wants to visit eventually.

Possible endings[]
- If they defeat the Lord:
- If Marcel and Theodora are together, they stay in Paris and Marcel continues to write his thesis. After six months, on their way to see a movie, Marcel accidently lets a ring slip out of his pocket and, after getting encouragement from Theodora, proposes to her. If Theodora became mortal and chooses to remember Marcel's face on her death bed, it is revealed that they had a daughter.
- If Marcel and Theodora are not together, they start meeting up every Monday which becomes their tradition. Marcel continues his thesis, using all the material he gained during their shared adventure.
- If Theodora doesn't defeat the Lord but saves her soul, she wakes up in a French hospital, realizing that she suffers from amnesia and doesn’t even remember her own name. She publishes a newspaper ad looking for people who might know her and could tell her who she is. Marcel responds to the ad and they meet in the park. The man explains to Theodora that he suffers from partial amnesia too but only lost the last few months and not his whole life. They both agree that there is an unexplained closeness between them and agree to go for a coffee together.
- If Theodora doesn't defeat the Lord and doesn't manage to save her soul, she dies in terrible agony and her soul is doomed to eternal suffering. While being tortured by invisible forces, Theodora sees an injured Marcel and briefly remembers their time together. He tells her that she failed and will never get out.
