Malbonte is a love interest in the book Heaven's Secret and its sequel Heaven's Secret 2.

About Malbonte

Malbonte is one of the first children born of an angel and a demon from a time when there was no Law of Segregation. "Bont" was his birth name as his mother saw only the good in him. But because of his dark side, everyone added "Mal" to his name. Even his father started calling him "Malbonte" (translates to Good-Evil).

At that time, many children died due to the instability of the world, including children of angels and demons. But Malbonte survived, he was stronger than many. During his childhood he showed his outstanding and promising skills. Although, growing up he sympathized with the demons, believing that they were undeservedly belittled and placed one step lower than the angels, so he deemed it necessary to have a war between them.

Shepha sensed the danger coming from him. At first he wanted to destroy him, but couldn't because of his angel side. Then he decided to separate his light ("good") and dark ("evil") sides: the light took an angel’s disguise and having received his birth name Bont, was imprisoned in a tower, not remembering anything about his past; and the dark side lost its physical embodiment and was sentenced to captivity since it couldn’t be destroyed without the good side.

The player can see Malbonte's parents through his memories in Season 3, Episode 4 of Heaven's Secret. They murdered a little girl who found out about their son who was hidden in the garden of Adam and Eve. The blood of this girl soaked into the ground and poison the maze. Later you discover that this girl was the sister of Eragon, the Chief Counselor. This capital sin of Malbonte's parents resulted in their wings being ripped out and them being exiled to Earth for the rest of their lives; leaving Malbonte alone with an immense power that he couldn’t control.

Bont's liberation from the tower makes it to where Fencio unites him with his dark side Mal making them become Malbonte again. Malbonte is a conflicted character who can either be kind to you or mean depending on your choices in the story. There are two variants that interfere: your relationship with him and your affinity with his ideas, the latter directly impacts this character's fate at the end of Heaven's Secret.

Relationships

  • Vicky Walker (MC): She is an Unclaimed, and a possible love interest. The MC and Malbonte are distant relatives, separated by many centuries; she is a descendant from his parents who were sent to Earth. He tries to dislike her but if you have a strong connection with his ideas, he can be a little kind to her. In the first book he tries to convince the MC to join his cause, because she absorbed some of his power during the ritual to bring him back. When they are physically close, her strength and visions enhance.
  • Annabelle: She is an angel and his mother, who originally named him "Bont". He hated it since it translates as "good".
  • Father: He is a demon and his father. He cared deeply for him from the memories shown and referred to him as "Malbonte".
  • Fencio: He is Dino’s father, a former throne, and was a teacher at the Academy in Heaven's Secret. He is the one who prepared everything for Malbonte's return. Driven by the rejection of Rebecca (MC's mother), he did this to get revenge on everyone who thought he was weak.
  • Rebecca: She is MC's mother and the first Unclaimed to become a Seraph. They are distant relatives, separated by many centuries. Both are ambitious but have different goals for Heaven and Hell. That's why she tries to keep the MC away from him.
  • Shepha: The Creator of Light. The one responsible for Malbonte's parents exile and for separating him into two parts: Mal and Bont. Malbonte hates Shepha for that and intends to take revenge.
  • Shephamalum: Shepha's twin brother. The Dark God. The one who has guided Malbonte. The one whose whispers he has heard ever since he was born. The one who revealed the most important secret of Heaven to him.
  • Plague: She is the Horsewoman of the Apocalypse and only appears in Heaven's Secret 2. It seems that Malbonte and Plague hate each other, but at the same time they respect each other's power. He is not afraid of her as he is driven by hatred not despair.

For an immortal, distant from everything ephemeral, fleeting, familiar only with the carefree and at the same time exhausting infinity of being, it is hard to watch his parents leave this world.   • If Malbonte is your love interest in Heaven's Secret 2, he leaves a black obelisk flower on your pillow in Season 3, Episode 2. It symbolizes hatred, but it also means more than that to Malbonte: justice, strife, and faith in one’s own strength.

⚠️SPOILER ALERT⚠️

Important notes:

  • Malbonte survives only if you have a strong connection with him AND if in S3, Ep10 you manage to side with him. Even if your MC thinks he's right in this episode, if you don't have a strong connection to Malbonte's ideas up to that point she won't ally with him anyway, and he dies.
  • So, if you want Malbonte to be your endgame (main LI) you really need to have: good relationship with him + strong connection with him + side with him at the final war.
  • It doesn't matter who your main LI is. If you sided with him, you are going to have one of the endings bellow. This way, if you allied with Malbonte in the final war but he is not your main LI, you will have the ending with your LI plus the ending with Malbonte in the sequence.
  • If you are on Path of the Angel 😇 and sided with Malbonte, you will not have a CG with him, even if he is your main LI. You will only have the CG of the MC joining the council (and with your LI, if it's another character besides Malbonte). Because the CG with him is only when you rule beside him (Path of the Demon 😈 OR Path of Malbonte 😇😈).

SEASON 3, EPISODE 11
