Isla Lee is the main character you play as in the book The Parallel Universes Bureau. About Isla

Isla is a Senior Field Agent with The Parallel Universes Bureau (PUB for short). She is a workaholic who lives in London and was sent to do a job in Belchester, England as a working holiday because PUB can't legally force her to take her vacation days.

PUB agents are peacemakers. They operate in secret to manage and contain supernatural occurrences. If the supernatural realm starts causing a problem, a PUB agent will come out to try and manage the situation, either by peaceful means or force if absolutely necessary. Isla was hired straight out of University and has been working at the London branch for over a decade.

When Isla arrives in Belchester she meets her client, Albert Knight. He and his colleague, Nettie Kim, are having a dispute with the Belchester fairy lord, Orion, and called for a PUB agent to help. During her time in Belchester, she meets several interesting characters, including Glim, one of the pixies in Orion's court. Orion is not very receptive to Isla's demands and places a hex on her to keep her from leaving Belchester.
