Henrietta is a casual love interest in the first Season of the book Vying for Versailles.
About Henrietta[]
Henrietta is the Princess of England and part of Prince Philippe's retinue. She arrived at court when she was two years old, which is why it feels more like home to her than England. Henrietta has never really known her family because of that: Her brother Henry was kept hostage by the British Parliament from age two and died of smallpox, same as her sister Mary, while her sister Elisabeth passed away after catching pneumonia at only fourteen. In addition, Henrietta still stuffers from the events surrounding her father, King Charles of England, which lead to his execution. She makes it clear that she wants to be remembered and famed for more than just being the daughter of a dead king.
Henrietta was supposed to marry Prince Philippe but had an affair with his brother, King Louis XIV, at the same time. They got caught and the wedding was called off, leaving Henrietta without a royal lover or fiancé. She doesn't approve of Louis' affair with Louise de la Valliere and is scheming to set him up with Catherine instead.
The English woman comes across as very flirtatious and open-minded, always joining parties and game nights with her retinue. She is smitten by newcomer Renée and even shows her lonely side when they are alone.
At the end of Season 1, Henrietta is revealed as the one who shot the hot air ballon Renée and her love interest were riding in during the Party of the Island of Enchanted Delights. Confronted about it, she confesses that she only wanted to hit it when the King was aboard. She doesn't feel like having a future in the court and got asked by her brother to come home. After Renée passes the evidence on to the King, Henrietta gets exiled back to England and assumes a quiet countryside life in rural Sussex.

Romance path[]
Henrietta is a casual Love Interest and won't end up with the player at the end of the story. However, it is possible to date her in Season 1 while persuing one of the end-game Love Interests.

Possible endings[]
There is no ending with Henrietta. After she gets exiled at the end of Season 1, she is never seen again. Renée finds out that Armand continues to write her and asks him to be careful, but other than that Henrietta doesn't get mentioned anymore.
