The Main Character in this book is called Lori Kaplan, but the player can change her first name and appearances. Lori is young woman surviving in a post-apocalyptic society.

Mother of Nina, Anna and Luis. She used to tell Lori and Chand about the old days with working global communication networks, billons more people and cities everywhere.

Mishka

Chand's mother, a very tough woman.

Hernando Alvarez

Homeport's doctor and Phoebe's father.

Pramila

Todd's coworker at the bakeshop. Nikola's sister.

Nikola

Skipper of Mariposa, one of the three boats in Homeport. Pramila's brother.

Nolee

Grandmother of Pramila and Nikola.

Tay

They record forecasts up at Ham Hut and broadcast them over the radio.

Juneau residents

Sean Kaplan

Lori's brother who lives with their parents in Juneau. Later, he visits his sister in Homeport and gets the chance to become a part of her crew.

Tosha Kaplan

Lori's mother. It's not easy for her to let Lori go her own way.

Andre Kaplan

Lori's father. He works at Kaplan Woodworks and has Otero's disease, a neurodegenerative illness.

Sam

Lori's ex. They dated in high school until Sam humiliated Lori. Sam's appearance is customizable.

Eric

One of Chand's exes. He works at a clothing store called Goodies.

Bora

Sunny's ex.

Juneau's harbormaster.

Shayna works at Juneau's archive.

Bella lives in Quiet Bay and is the proprietress of the local hot spring lodge.

Bella's husband, a stubborn but good man.

Krissa is Chand's girlfriend but breaks up with him at the beginning of the story. She used to live in Homeport with her dad Andrew.

He's in charge of Aquila's maintenance and security.

Dan belongs to the Raven moiety of the Tlingit people. He's from one of the villages on the island and works to keep the radio tower operational.

Dan's nephew. He helps keeping the radio tower in check.

The protagonist of "The Adventures of Pod Kid", a story about a kid named James who grows up in a medical containment unit with only an android caretaker. Eventually, the kid goes on all sorts of adventures.
