About Ellaire[]

Ellaire is the newly crowned Queen of the Kingdom of Trespia. The story begins on her coronation day. After meeting the monarchs of her neighbouring kingdoms, including D'Mario, the young King of Rajahili, who her Uncle believes could be a good marriage match, she is troubled by the sight of a crowd of unhappy people under her window after her proclamation. Ellaire then decides to leave the palace in secret to find out the truth about how hard life actually is in her kingdom.

Her faithful Queensguard Wyatt le Roux, who has been her friend since childhood, accompanies her on this journey. While searching for answers, Ellaire meets Gisella, a brave and generous bandit leader, and the apparently ruthless Earl Reinhold, a local noble. Her sweet and caring maid Delias also joins her on her quest.

Ellaire was born in the kingdom of Trespia. Both her parents passed away when she was two years old and she was brought up by her father's brother, Duke Osmont. She has never been outside of the Royal Palace walls because her uncle was worried about her security.

Wincy, the writer, said that Ellaire has learned healing techniques from the Trespian Healbook; law and court duties from the three members of the Council; literature and culture of all kingdoms from her uncle; combat, especially archery, from Wyatt; and cooking from the chambermaids. [1]

At the end of Season 1, after accomplishing everything she is able to and revealing her identity to her friends, she returns to the throne only to be usurped by her own Uncle for accusations against her of abandoning the throne.

In Season 2, Ellaire finds herself without a crown and kicked out of the palace. She decides that she will do whatever she can to reclaim the throne and punish those who betrayed her. Reinhold gives Ellaire the idea to get signed petitions from all of the Trespian monarchs and even though the mission will be extremely dangerous, Ellaire is determined to see it through.

Throughout their journey, there are many injuries, set backs, betrayals, and learning opportunities for Ellaire. Disheartened, she stays with D'Mario who gives her the advice she needs to continue on her path. At the end of Season 2, Ellaire is back at the palace with all of the signed petitions and makes a motion to have a trial.

Depending on your choices, Uncle Osmont will either surrender peacefully or there will be a fight between the guards and the assassins stationed at the palace. Either way, Ellaire is back on the throne in Season 3 and there is obvious tension between her and Queen Megaris because Ellaire has imprisoned her son, Prince Alaric.

The trials for Prince Alaric, Treasurer Xavier, Advisor Zoltan, and Uncle Osmont are held. Their sentencing depends almost entirely on your choices and Ellaire faces them with the courage and determination that she has acquired through the hardships in Season 2. Prince Alaric and Queen Megaris will prove to be her strongest opponents yet.

After Prince Alaric goes back to Xael, Ellaire prepares for retaliation. She decides to convene the Grand Summit which is a meeting with the kings and queens of Trespia, Shaadha, Rajahili, Xael, and Maith where Ellaire will openly voice her opposition to Xael and petition to remove Queen Megaris from the throne because of her crimes against Trespia. Queen Megaris, to Ellaire's surprise, offers to host it at her palace in Xael. How the meeting goes is greatly influenced by your choices but regardless, King Ozer, D'Mario, and Leoric request a day to go over the evidence and make an informed decision.

Unfortunately, the Grand Summit went badly due to Queen Megaris and her greed. Queen Megaris made a very violent statement against the other kingdoms and promptly kicked them out of her land. All that was left was for the other rulers to go home and prepare for a possible attack. When Ellaire gets back to Trespia, there is a sleeping curse in her kingdom and no immediate solution. King Leoric arrives to bring the bad news that the villagers she saved from Xael have been killed by Xael soldiers en route back to Trespia and Maith has been invaded. Now there is no choice but to retaliate against Xael and Queen Megaris but, she will need the other kingdoms' help in order to do so.

Trespian Almanac[]

Here is a list of all the Trespian plants, herbs and remedies mentioned in the book so far, in alphabetical order.

  • Aloe Kigelia: a fruit native to the high mountains of Rajahili, known for its pain-relieving properties.
  • Alura Sage: an herb that helps soothe mental and physical discomfort.
  • Baking soda and water: to help cure honey fever.
  • Blessed Primsaffron: an extremely valuable plant due to their rarity and effectiveness in treating a variety of ailments.
  • Bone healing ointment: to help cure fractures.
  • Death nettle: a poison that, if ingested, grants immediate death and makes you bleed out of your eyes and mouth.
  • Demon rosemary: a poisonous tropical plant that thrives in lands where it rains very often.
  • Dreamleaves: a herb that helps sleep.
  • Ethernal thorns: a herb that helps sleep.
  • Eviona blossom: a very rare flower that grows on the other side of the Unresting Sea. Earl Reinhold's ancestors, the Piel family, are the only ones who managed to cross the sea and return with these seeds and they only grow in the gardens of Piel Manor.
  • Fireweed powder: useful to cauterize wounds.
  • Fyrie Ginger: renowned for it's ability to purge toxins but it also severely weakens the body afterward.
  • Ghost mint: a plant that is useful for digestion and bloating after a meal.
  • Heart of Trespia: the last of its kind, it is a blossom that is said to be able to cure all sickness.
  • Honey: a binding agent.
  • Necrobloom Extract: a toxicant that turns your entire appearance pale green and causes headaches as it wears off.
  • Nibblehops Powder: a powder that will bring about an itch that is a thousand times worse than one caused by a mosquito bite.
  • Phantasm Scorpid Venom: a venom collected from phantasm scorpids. It is not lethal, but it is known to cause nightmarish illusions that can lead to madness.
  • Sanguinary Thornweed: a rare herb used only for wound cauterization. Though generally harmless, internal consumption may cause abnormal bleeding to give the illusion of impending death. Too much could cause excessive bleeding but too little would render it ineffective.
  • Silver thistles: a plant that can counteract the poisonous effects of Demon rosemary.
  • Slumberbloom: a herb that helps sleep.
  • Star cumin: a herb that helps sleep.
  • Sun Pepper Water: a sun pepper infused water mixed with unfamiliar herbs used as a counteracting agent for amatory spices and paralyzing potions.
  • White moonberries: a fruit that helps sleep.
  • Woe Mint: a highly poisonous pale grass that grows underneath the Eviona Blossom flowers.
  • Wraith Weed Powder: a powder that can put someone to sleep (like inconveniently placed guards, for example).
  • Unnamed Trespian plants: to counteract the venom of a venomous animal, it is customary to look for plants that grow nearby the animal's nest, because, as Ellaire explains in S1, Ep5, "A cure always exists near the particular source of poison, due to the law of nature."
