Dean is a K-pop idol. He's the rapper and visual of the boy group X-EVO, managed by PJK Entertainment.

Dean is a cheeky, charismatic, energetic and self-confident guy who loves attention and can't resist drama. Luna compares him to an agile fox on the outside and an gwisin (Korean spirit) on the inside, always hungry for gossip and intrigue. Dean doesn't hide his true nature and even describes himself as a predator who's after secrets and fame. He encourages Luna to stop pretending and to embrace her own cunningness. In addition, Dean is always cheerful and in a good mood because he tries to see how things can be beneficial to him and states that negative emotions just drain you.

Dean has always been a smooth talker. Early in X-EVO's career, Dean managed to secure funding from a major sponsor which gave their group a massive head start. From then on, the agency's producer insisted that Dean gets to handle all similar matters in the future. This lead to him striking up conversations with a lot of different people, getting more and more invitations to parties and events, making a lot of connections - and getting to know a ton of secrets. Dean often hints at having a "second" job, possibily related to these connections and secrets, but the details are unclear.

When Dean and Luna get closer, he confesses that he was offered the role of X-EVO's leader at the beginning but refused because he wasn't sure if he could handle being responsible for the whole group. Despite that, Dean says he doesn't like the pressure put on X-EVO while other groups don't seem to work as hard. He also displays a sincere affection for his fans, being grateful for their attention and reciprocating their love.

After he and Luna become a couple at the end of the first season, they try to keep their relationship a secret while spending as much time together as they can. While Dean doesn’t seem to be the type to be tender and loving, he starts to show a his true character to Luna more and more. He clearly knows a lot about what's going on with the mysterious deaths of idols and their connection the the "Garden of Eden" club, but still keeps his secrets from Luna and asks her to trust him. During her investigation into the alledged suicide of her twin sister Seo-yoon, Dean gives Luna a lot of hints and tries to help her by meeting with someone who wants to invest in Luna's group SIRENS. After that meeting, he collapses during a beauty shoot and later realizes that he has been poisoned as a warning.

As Luna gets closer to the truth, Dean openly supports her and explains that he earned people’s trust by staying silent, by wearing a mask so harmless no one ever saw him as a threat. He played his role for a long time, gathering what he needed to one day secure freedom for himself and for others to finally break the cycle. All this time, he was waiting for someone like Luna, willing to challenge the system. Not only does he manage to secure a flash drive with footage from a security camera showing the day Seo-yoon died, he also smuggles a bugged microphone for Luna to use into the suspicious Garden of Eden club.

Dean smokes occasionally. He tried it for the first time at sixteen because his grandma likes good cigars – until today, they remind him of the past and of her. Still, Dean says he’s not addicted to them and can quit anytime he wants. He allows himself one, maybe two cigarettes a month when he needs to calm down, and drinks mint tea with lime to mask the smell of tobacco.
Dean enjoys drinking iced americano. He doesn’t drink alcohol because he dislikes the taste and finds it dangerous.
He got into reading, especially Russian literature, because of his grandmother. They are very close, while Dean's relationship to his parents is rather neural.
Dean says he got the biggest room in X-EVO's house because he beat everyone else at chess.
