"The princess will become a queen, and she won’t need anyone to rely on."
Damon is a love interest in the book Arcanum.
About Damon
Damon is an ex-boyfriend of the main character (Selena/Lilith) in the real world, who first appears in Season 2, with no real-life memories, as the king of Altergrove (humans), the enemy kingdom of Valle Deliria (dryads). Most of the time he behaves whit confidence and arrogance, but he can show his soft and sensitive side to the main character if they are close.
During Season 2, it shows in flashbacks that in the real world Damon met Selena, when she was seventeen years old, after one of her shifts as a waitress to raise money for her studies. They started dating, but realizing that their relationship was hurting Selena, Damon decided to break up with her. When he appears in Valle Deliria, although the story demonstrates that the main character is confused and insecure when meeting her ex-lover, it depends on the player's choices if she will feel for him disgust, indifference, or excitement.
In the flashbacks it is also shown that Lola, a college friend of the main character and daughter of Damon's friends, had a crush on him but it was never reciprocated. After Damon broke up with Selena, he asked Lola if she could give him updates on his ex to see how she was doing.
About the parallel reality of Season 2, Damon was elected King of Altergrove recently at the time of the story. He doesn’t have royal blood and came to power as a simple human peasant. He is a descendant of merchants; his father was swallowed up by Riversole. According to him, the humans chose him because they were tired of the endless war. Damon says he's willing to end the animosity between Altergrove and Valle Deliria and wants to improve their relationship. It's up to the player to trust him or not.
Mary, Queen's Counselor of Valle Deliria, believes that Damon wants to take the dryads by surprise to assess how fit Lilith (the main character's name in the parallel realities) is to rule and whether she can keep the throne. Despite this, in front of everyone, Damon only says that he will do everything to strengthen the peace between the countries and that he will recognize and respect Lilith as Queen. He gives the main character an ultimatum that she must decide if she will whether to continue growing the hatred between the nations or unite them. Damon's ultimate fate in this reality depends on the player's choices during Season 2.
Season 3 takes place in the Kingdom of Shadows. In this reality, many characters represent characters from fairytales. Damon is a leader of robbers who attacked the main character and her companions in Episode 3. If he is your love interest he confesses to Selena/Lilith that he was paid to attack them, that he did it to feed his family.
In Season 3, Episode 7 you find out that Lola is Damon's sister in this parallel reality and that he lives with her and their parents in the Forgotten lands. But he almost doesn't show up there because he's usually robbing people with his accomplices so he can take food home. From this episode, Damon starts to help the main character and her companions in the last part of their path to the Tarot Reader. His ultimate fate in this reality depends on whether or not the player managed to get the Eternal Flower.

Relationships
- Selena/Lilith (MC): She is part of his past in the real world (you can read about it in the "About" content of this page or on the MC's page). In the reality of Season 2, they rule rival kingdoms. In Season 3, Damon tries to steal Selena/Lilith and her companions but later ends up helping them. How she treats him in all realities depends on the player's choices.
- Robert Steltz: In Season 2, Rob is his commander-in-chief in Altergrove, and Damon truly trust him. In Season 3, Damon's gang tries to steal from Rob and his companions on the way to the Tarot Reader, but later Damon starts to help them on this journey.
- Raymund: In Season 2, he is his counselor in Altergrove. Despite appearing to be loyal to Damon, Raymund does not like having his speeches interrupted by him.
- Prima: She doesn't hide how much she admires Damon and finds him handsome. She says she doesn't understand why Selena/Lilith treats him coldly.
- Lola: She was a college friend of Selena/Lilith in the real world. It is revealed in flashbacks that Lola's parents were friends with Damon and that she had a crush on him that was never reciprocated. She appears at the end of Season 2 as part of Valle Deliria's oldest family of dryads, claiming that she would rather destroy Valle Deliria than unite with the humans. Lola also makes an appearance in Season 3 as Damon's sister, and they are protective of each other..
- Parker: He makes small appearances in all parallel realities. In Season 1, Parker is as a resident of Totspel. In Season 2, he only appears in Altergrove interacting briefly with Damon. In Season 3, Parker was Rob's loyal follower who after his downfall went poor and became a robber of Damon's gang.

Trivia
- In Season 1, Episode 8 Selena/Lilith sees a man on the streets of Totspel who reminds her of Damon. That brief moment already makes the player realize how Damon was an important part of the main character's past. In one of the possible endings of the book it is confirmed that that man really was Damon.
- In Season 2, Episode 7 Damon gives Selena/Lilith a knife. Mary then tells the main character that "humans have a tradition: they give their ally a knife as a sign of trust. With this knife you can kill the giver, or you can protect them. The person sort of gives you this opportunity, trusting you with their life."
- In Season 3, Episode 10, on the Low Redemption path + Emperor path, Selena/Lilith uses the knife that Damon gave her in Valle Deliria to try to kill the Tarot Reader.

Possible endings
⚠️SPOILER ALERT⚠️
In Season 3, Episode 10 there are six possible endings with Damon if he is your end-game love interest which are directly influenced by your choices throughout the book.
- Path of High Atonement ⛓️: The main character gets the "Nothingness" card and remembers the other realities. One day she went to the coffee shop where she and Damon met, and when she thought about leaving, he appeared. Damon asks why she is avoiding him. Selena says that for many years she held a grudge against him, but that she no longer felt anger, that she has changed.
- Strong relationship: Damon says he’ll have to get to know her again, that she has changed more than he thought. He also says that Selena is an amazing woman and that he is glad that the love she once had for him did not ruin her life. He feels the connection they shared in the other realities. (CG unlocked)
- Weak relationship: Damon squeezed her hand in a friendly manner and told her he is always there to help her if she needed anything. He leaves his number for her before leaving the coffee shop. Selena goes on with her life - without him, but hopes Damon is happy even if it's not with her.
- Path of Low Atonement ⛓️ with enough Major Arcana 🎴 (second chance): If you choose that the main character deserves a second chance, she will be on an endless journey through the worlds, and you see a different scene depending on which path you are on.
- Path of High Priestess 🌙: The main character renounces the throne of Valle Deliria and joins the humans to be with Damon. They face the war together.
- Path of Emperor 💀: The main character introduces herself to Damon in Totspel and says they should get to know each other. He helps her save Rob from being imprisoned in the portrait.
- Path of Low Atonement ⛓️ without enough Major Arcana 🎴 (or if you chose death): Depending on your path the main character will react differently to her fate.
- Path of High Priestess 🌙: The main character asks to take one last look at the real world. The Tarot Reader says yes but as a ghost. She sees Damon but cannot speak to him, just watches and be close one last time. When she arrives at the doors of the real other world she doesn't want to leave without Damon, so she stays in front of the doors to wait for him.
- Path of Emperor 💀: The main character kills the Tarot Reader, so she cannot see the real world one last time. But the player sees a scene of Damon in his office trying not to think about the main character. When she arrives at the doors of the real other world she doesn't want to leave without Damon, so she stays in front of the doors to wait for him.
Note: If Damon is not your end-game love interest, the narrative says that the main character went to him to end their past relationship on friendly terms. As she walked away from Damon, she almost physically felt the door to her past close, leaving behind the life of a little girl with a broken heart.
