About Charlotte[]

Charlotte is a burlesque performer working at Madame Rosetta's House in 1963. She meets Theodora during a show and is immediately intrigued by her, not knowing that the journalist is only posing as a waitress and actually working on an article about Madame and her establishment.

Chalotte is a talented performer with a joyful smile. After both girls start to get closer, Theodora notices a heavy sadness in Charlotte, suspecting a secret that's tormenting the dancer. When talking about Forramo, Charlotte admits that she's thinking about moving and changing her life, desiring a fresh start. Theodora later finds out that she applied for the job at the House under the name of Patrizia Conti and wonders why she would hide her true identity.

While investigating stolen documents, Theodora confronts Charlotte about her involvement and finds out that she’s actually Valentina, the daughter Rosetta abandoned shortly after giving birth. Valentina grew up thinking that Rosetta's friend who raised her was her real grandmother, only learning the truth shortly before said friend died of an illness. Knowing that money could've saved her caretaker from death, Valentina became more and more angry when she found out that her birthmother was rich and living in abundance. She started working at her mother's House under a false name, waiting for an opportunity to take revenge. Using a blackout to her advantage, she decided to steal incriminating documents to ruin Rosetta’s life and destroy everything she worked so hard to build.

Depending on the player, Charlotte will either talk things out with Rosetta and forgive her, or stay angry and hand the documents over to the police. A fire caused by Theodora's enemies ultimately destroys Madame's house and, again depending on the player's choices, potentially kills Rosetta. If Rosetta survives the fire, Charlotte will either get her revenge when her mother confesses her crimes to the police, or she becomes her mother's new business partner. Theodora has to leave Italy without being able to say goodbye, but the player can choose to at least write a farewell letter to Charlotte.

In 1973, Theodora vists a circus in London and sees Charlotte again, now performing as an acrobat. Their eyes meet and Theodora, feeling bad for leaving Charlotte behind, flees from the arena.

Possible endings[]

If Theodora defeats the Lord and decides to become mortal again, she remembers Charlotte's face before dying. Afterwards, she wakes up in their shared apartment in Italy. Feeling like she just had a scary nightmare, Theodora seeks Charlotte's comfort. After breakfast Charlotte has a surprise for Theodora and takes her to the outskirts of Forramo. Charlotte buys a blue scooter and takes Theodora for a drive around the bend.
If Theodora doesn't defeat the Lord but saves her soul, she wakes up in a French hospital, realizing that she suffers from amnesia and doesn’t even remember her own name. While sitting on a park bench, Theodora reads a newsletter about a new burlesque show and remembers being close to a young female dancer. Feeling like she knew that woman some time ago, Theodora swears to find her whatever it takes.
If Theodora doesn't defeat the Lord and doesn't manage to save her soul, she dies in terrible agony and her soul is doomed to eternal suffering. While being tortured by invisible forces, Theodora sees an injured Charlotte and briefly remembers their time together. Charlotte tells her that she failed and will never get out.
