About Castiel[]

Castiel is a K-pop idol and lead dancer of the boy group RK3, managed by PJK Entertainment.

He is a temperamental man who doesn't like to back down. According to his colleagues, Castiel often gets himself into trouble but always comes out on top. A lot of people say he's a stubborn hothead, but his fans don't believe that and support him unconditionally. Castiel is very popular in South Korea and has been in a lot of commercials.

According to rumors, Castiel is the son of a rich businessman whose name has not yet been revealed. They don't have a good relationship because his father is constantly unhappy with Castiel's behavior and always tries to cover for him, afraid of getting his reputation ruined. Castiel's mother is said to be a former actress or singer. Influenced by this complicated family dynamic, Castiel is used to hiding his problems well and constantly punishes himself for his mistakes.

At the beginning of the story, Luna meets Castiel after she has been away for six months and notices that he has lost weight. He seems to know more about the circumstances of her sister Seo-yoon's death, but doesn't want to help and asks her to stop digging. As it turns out, he and Seo-yoon were good friends and had a lot of things in common. Castiel never felt any romantic attraction toward her and says she was the sister he never had - the reason he wanted to become friends with her in the first place was because he actually wanted to learn more about Luna. After a while, Castiel noticed that Seo-yoon changed and wouldn’t trust him anymore; she even started blackmailed him and threatened to reveal his secrets if he dared to interfere in her life. After her death, Castiel felt guilty and was on the verge of self-destruct, so he went to see a therapist for a while. Now, Castiel tries to protect Seo-yoon's private matters from her sister but can't help falling for Luna more and more.

After he and Luna become a couple at the end of the first season, they try to keep their relationship a secret while spending as much time together as they can. When another one of his friends, idol Mi-yeon, also dies of suicide, Castiel cuts himself off from his entire group, keeping himself busy at the agency and beyond. At the same time, there are no longer as many scandals involving him. Luna stays by his side, defending him against his group leader Lin and even introducing Castiel to her parents.

When Luna meets Castiel's father, she learns that he is a business shark who regularily abuses his son. Castiel finally confesses to her that he has been to the Garden of Eden club before, a location Luna suspects to be related to her sister's suffering and death. Castiel explains that he followed Seo-yoon and got into the club thanks to a man who offered to invite him as his personal guest. Once in the club, the same man wanted to seduce Castiel by trying to force him to drink a cocktail and get him into a seperate room. Fortunately, Castiel managed to escape but when his identity was found out, unknown people started to ruin his life - from slander and orchestrating scandals to blackmail, threats and stalking. His father became involved and paid a lot of money to get Castiel out of their grip, damaging his own relationship with some influential people in the process. After that, he started sponsoring RK3, hoping they would help him recover some of the money he spent on his son. Castiel begged his father to help Seo-yoon as well, but was refused and still blames himself because of it. The more scandals Castiel gets into, the more abusive his father becomes, angry that his investment is quickly draining with no profit in return.

Slowly, Castiel sinks more and more into bitterness and grief, convinced that the deaths of Mi-yeon and Lin’s suspicious involvement with Garden of Eden are his fault. He thinks that the same people threatening him are using his loved ones to drain every last bit of strength from him, increasing the pressure on him more and more. After his band leader Lin also shows signs of being under pressure by dangerous people and starts to spiral out of control, RK3's future hangs in the balance - they even get evicted from their home. Lin gets admitted into a private clinic and the agency adds a new member to the group, making Castiel the new band leader.

Trivia[]

Castiel is a stage name. His real name is Hyunjoon.
His birthday is December 7th, making his zodiac sign a Sagittarius.^[2]
He considers himself an early bird and only sleeps three or four hours per night.
His mother didn't really like cooking, so his father hired a chef. Castiel used to watch him cook and says that it almost felt like magic to him. When he was a little older, the chef decided to teach him. After he passed away, Castiel refused to eat the food from the new chef and started to cook for himself. He became a very good cook and often makes food for his group members.
He can play the guitar but doesn't really like it because he learned it from his father.
Castiel wears light contacts.
He likes tennis.
His height is 185 cm.^[1]
In Season 1, Episode 9, Castiel plays a song for Luna. The lyrics are: "I live only for my memories and my dreams of you at night / Today I want you in secret becaus it's feeling right / But I hope you'll be with me when tomorrow comes in sight / Baby, don't you worry, time is always on the run / Let's trust that fate will be a friend and make us become one / I promise you, the world will change, your worries will be gone / And seeing your happy eyes is all I'll ever want".
His father gave him a car for his 18th birthday. Despite disliking these gifts, Castiel ultimately decides to swallow his pride and make good use of them.
Castiel's parents own a holiday home but never really use it. Sometimes he goes there to recharge.
