Benny Bart is a possible love interest in Moonborn.

About Benny

Mia meets Benny in Season 2, Episode 2, at one of his concerts, where she went looking for clues to find out more about her situation. Benny is a vampire but he is also a music superstar, although he keeps his real nature a secret from his fans.

Please note: even if you pick him as a love interest, Mia and Benny's relationship is set to be an open relationship by default. Benny's attitude towards Mia will always be fairly casual and he won't abandon his promiscuous lifestyle even if/when committing to her and possibly even marrying her. Although he is sweet and cares for Mia, he makes no mystery about the fact that he sleeps with other people, so if you are not OK with that, he might not be the right Love Interest for you.

Also note that if you decide to romance Max or Victor, most scenes with Benny won't be available. Choosing him as a lover will make a few more personal scenes available, while if you decide to keep him as a friend only, your relationship will be more superficial, but plot-wise, although his screen time is limited, Benny's impact on the book is fairly significant regardless of Mia's relationship with him.

Benny has two possible endings depending on your choices. He can end the book single, or in a relationship with Mia, but his life is never in danger.

Biography

Mia meets Benny through either Max or Victor, depending on your choices, as they are both friendly with him. Benny flirts with her immediately as he is a carefree and promiscuous character.

Benny is close friends with Dante Guerra, and will ask him to talk to Mia and help her with the information she needs. Dante and Mia will then meet again later in Europe and share some time together there.

A very popular music superstar, Benny is friendly with vampires, werewolves and humans alike and doesn't take sides. He drinks human blood, however he doesn't hunt people. He is not interested in the feud between vampires and werewolves, as his close friend Dante confirms to Mia in Season 3, Episode 7 by saying that Benny is loved by many but he won't help much in matters of contempt.

The most important things to Benny are his music (that he defines as 'holy') and his fans. When Mia asks him to cancel one of his concerts because of a possible danger, he is adamant he can't do that, because he does not care if it's another World War or the apocalypse, the show must go on as he can't disappoint his fans.

We learn more about Benny's past in season 2 episode 10, when he reveals to Mia that he was turned into a vampire after a concert in Germany. A man came to see him in his dressing room claiming to be a fan and invited him to a party. He ended up in the company of the Northern European Prince, who offered to turn him. He thought about it for almost a year but in the end agreed because he liked the idea of immortality. He struggled with his new nature, however, and sought the help of a psychologist to come to terms with having become a vampire.

In Season 3, Episode 1, Victor tells Mia that Benny is an exception among vampires, because most immortals stay out of the limelight because they aren't interested in leaving a legacy or to get fame nor money. Dante will also tell Mia that Benny is unique, as in Season 3, Episode 4 he reveals that Benny is very progressive for a vampire, as he invests in the development of technological gadgets, smartphones and virtual reality.

In Season 2, Episode 10, Mia and Trisha attend one of Benny's lavish parties at his mansion. Both young vampires and young werewolves are in attendance, showing once more how Benny is able to appeal to everyone universally. Through his conversation with Mia we get an insight into his carefree and laid back personality. He tells Mia that debauchery is one of the primary purposes of the evening and she is allowed to break all the rules she wants, as long as she doesn't disrupt the other guests' fun. The only thing she can't do is throwing his CDs into the fire because his music is holy. When Mia suggests that she might start a quarrel between vampire and werewolves, Benny says he can't stop her because it's a free country, but he would be upset, offended and depressed. He'll also jokingly add that he'll stop giving concerts and his fans would miss him, and surely some would even kill themselves, and all will be on Mia's conscience.

In the same episode, we also have another example of Benny's humour: in a diamond scene, Benny suggests that Mia start a rumour about Monica, a vampire who's constantly treating Mia badly. Benny says that reputation among vampires is very important and gossip is a weapon. Then he and Mia start talking about Monica having a fake fang, between them but loud enough so that people around them would hear them. Benny tells Mia that in a week's time for sure everyone will be gossiping about Monica having fake teeth, and if you chose this option, the gossip will indeed spread at the party and will also be repeated by vampires all the way to Florence, Italy in Season 3, Episode 4.

Despite his easy going personality, if Mia and Benny are in a relationship, he does show that he cares about her. During a phone call in Season 3, Episode 5, while Mia is in Europe and potentially being hunted, Benny tells her that he is worried about her, asks if he can help in any way and says that he hopes there is someone there helping her. She reassures him that there is - and Benny's friend Dante is indeed that person, although we aren't told if Benny knows about it or not. He then says he misses her and can't forget their time together.

If you pick the diamond option to have Benny perform at the Green Pages event in Season 5, Episode 1, and Mia is in a relationship with him, he will call her on stage, praise her and sing and dance with her, before kissing her in front of everyone.

But Benny is not a loyal partner. In Season 3, Episode 4, while at his house Mia finds a pair of underwear that don't belong to her. Benny claims it's a gift from a fan and reproaches her for going through his stuff. You can choose to believe him or accuse him of cheating.

As much as he cares about her, even if they are together Benny has a hard time believing Mia when she tells him her troubles, although he eventually does try to help in his own way. In Season 5, episode 2, Mia goes to Benny's place where she finds him lost in thought, sorting through photos. He tells her that if she's hungry there's food in the kitchen and drinks at the bar but he's kind of busy and they should talk later. Mia says that she's in trouble and he puts the photos away and asks what happened. She describes the whole situation she found herself in, and Benny thinks her story is amazing, almost unbelievably so. He doesn't think that she's lying but thinks that she is likely confused because her imagination is too vivid due to her job as a journalist. He invites her to live with him until things quiet down, saying that he would keep her presence a secret and she would be safe there. He also adds that if things drag on, he can buy her a house in the Maldives. He tells her to please understand but he can't get involved in this situation because he needs to remain neutral with both the werewolves and vampires, and she should probably stop annoying the world's most powerful vampires. When Mia tells Benny that it was not her fault it came to this, Benny says that if she needs help he can help her leave, change her name, her age, whatever she needs, the offer stands. He can also open her a bank account with a six-figure balance so she can buy a house and have a peaceful life. But if she wants to play around with ancient prophecies and put herself into further danger she can, but she should not bother him with it because he does not have time for it. He then explains, pointing at the pictures, that he's planning a big concert and his fans expect a lot of him and he cannot fail them and apologises. Depending on your choices, Mia can get upset at his reaction and break up with him, or she can say that she understand and remain together. If Mia chooses to stay, Benny says that a girl like her is a rare find. If the two break up, Benny gets annoyed and lashes out saying that it's one less problem for him, snapping his fingers towards the door and saying that the exit is there.

The romantic path ending is also somewhat bittersweet. In Season 5, Episode 11, Mia finds another woman in the house she shares with Benny, and although he doesn't deny the cheating, it's implied that Mia is very much aware of his side flings. Benny calms Mia down saying that she is his favourite and informs her that his producer came up with a plan to repair Benny's reputation after the scandal of his final concert - which happened to be the set of this story's bloody final battle. He proposes to her on the basis that the media and the fans need something that will make them forget all about the concert, and he thinks an engagement and maybe a pregnancy rumour would do the trick because they will hit the front pages for sure. Mia complains that this is the worst proposal ever, but Benny jokes that he can organise a restaurant, flowers and a violinist if she wants. He also says they will have to invite some journalists and asks her if the following day is fine with her to go get a ring. Mia tells Benny he's the worst and his cynicism is beyond good and evil. Benny tells her with sincere eyes that he would not want to buy her an expensive ring she might not wear, so he prefers if she chooses one she likes. Then Mia can accept Benny's proposal or not. If she accepts, Benny is very happy. Mia says that she doesn't even know why she lets him get away with his behaviour and Benny says it's because he's awesome. A banner says that Mia graduates soon after, Benny invited journalists over and announced the engagement: the producer was right, everyone forgot about his concert, and six months later they are married.
