"You're and incredible girl, Sophie. It's like you've stepped from the pages of the best books about love."
Benedict Reed is a love interest in the book Sophie's Ten Wishes.
About Benedict
Benedict begins the story as a language history professor of the foreign languages and literature departament at the University of Brooklyn[2], where Sophie Preston (main character) works as a departmental assistant. He loves books and he grew up with his father reading “Lord of the Rings” by Tolkien before bedtime. Benedict attends a book club meeting every Wednesday and hardly leaves work in time. All he does at home is check tests and prepare for the next day.
Professor Reed has a British accent and truly English sense of humor. He is an intelligent man with a soft and velvety voice. According to Sophie, he is the dream of students, teachers, and even cleaning ladies, and no one can resist his charm. Benedict is polite with everyone around; even tough he is cold and strict. He doesn't show affection to anyone and masterfully avoid students and teachers flirting with him.
In Season 1, Episode 11 he reveals to Sophie that he has become the dean of the foreign languages and literature department and invites her to be his assistant. He promises to treat her with the respect she deserves and never allow her to feel unappreciated.
Relationships
- Sophie Preston (MC): She works as a departmental assistant at the same university he teaches, and they share the love for libraries. Benedict trusts Sophie and he seems to show interest in her, but she has doubts whether he is flirting or just being polite. It depends on the player's choices, whether to develop a romantic or professional relationship between them.
- Rose Miller: At the beginning of the story, she is the dean of the foreign languages and literature departament at the university Benedict works at, and Sophie's boss. But in Season 1, Episode 11 she is promoted to rector of the university, and Benedict takes over her old position.
- Petr Kovač: A professor who turned over the concept of translation and teaching foreign languages altogether. He influenced Benedict's teaching experience and love for the profession. Benedict's father is a very good friend of him - they really went through hell and high water together.

- From Benedict Reed (Special Art for Valentine's Day - Source: Romance Club Instagram): "Many words have been said about love. It is endlessly written about in books, praised in music, it gives people hope, and for its sake worlds are turned upside down, civilizations collapse and are built again. It is the force that moves people, that makes them wake up in the morning with a silly smile on their face, that makes them burn to the ground and be reborn from the ashes as another person. Whatever it is, we all strive for it eventually. May your love be as you deserve it."
