Main Character[]
Audrey

The Main Character in this book is called Audrey by default. She's a psychologist who lost her medical license after she had to defend herself against an aggressive patient. At the beginning of the story, she is starting a new job as a psychological evaluatorat Astrea Detective Agency, a firm chasing the supernatural.

Cult of the Beast[]
Arthur Cladis
Audrey's patient at the Goodlam Psychiatric Clinic. After showing signs of acute psychosis he attacked Audrey before throwing himself out of the window.
Phillip Moore
A strange figure Audrey encounters at Charlotte's club, he is later arrested for a murder that had the same style of marking the victim. The first man who was killed, his mother's sin, in the eyes of the Cult of the Beast, was Lust. The woman, whose death caused Moore to be caught, her father's sin, in the eyes of the Cult of the Beast, was Sloth.
Ethan
The brother of Oscar, he was originally believed to be a witness to a killing Lily but when questioned by the group, attempts to kill Audrey. It is then revealed that he killed Lily and others in the same ritualistic way. Lily's mother's sin, in the eyes of the Cult of the Beast, was Envy.
Franz
Franz is the pastor to a small village who housed Ruth, and later Moore. They serve The Beast and hope to gain his favor.
Other characters[]
Mom
Audrey's mother. She was married to a pastor and seems to be very religious. Her and her husband were part of a religious cult, both died when Audrey was young.
Father
Audrey's father. He was married to Audrey's mother and was the pastor of their community and seems to be very religious. He and his wife were part of a religious cult, both died when Audrey was young. His sin, in the eyes of Cult of the Beast, was Pride.
Ruth
Audrey's best friend. They both were part of the same religious cult growing up, just in different compounds. They first met in college and bonded through their shared trauma. Ruth remained religious and a steadfast friend to Audrey. It is later revealed she had a relationship in college with her professor, Malek Sinner, whom she later calls in a favor with to help out Audrey.
Client
Audrey's first client at the agency. He claims his house is haunted.
House Owner
The source of Audrey's first client's haunting. The original home owner who went missing the prior year. Audrey and David found him in a hidden portion of the house in a locked bunker.
Charlotte
Club owner and friend of Astrea Detective Agency. Nickname "Charlie". David mentions that anything at the club is free for them and she seems to have a lot of trust in them and Felonia.
Emma
Visited Charlotte's club with her younger sister, Barbara, where her sister was killed in a ritual killing similar to others in the past.
Emma's Father
The owner of BioInfinity, a startup that claimed to be looking for a cure for death. He was sent to prison for fraud and recently was released. His sin, in the eyes of the Cult of the Beast, is Greed.
Adam Vileno
The owner of an underground restaurant that often served illegal items on their menu. His son was killed by the Cult of the Beast. Adam's sin, in the eyes of the Cult of the Beast, is Gluttony.
Harry
A boxer who is a target for the Cult of the Beast. His father's sin, in the eyes of the Cult of the Beast, is Wrath.
Oscar
The brother of Ethan, initially the Astrea Detective Agency finds out about him because he was being visited by Phillip Moore, a possible cult member. A month prior, Oscar had confessed to a murder but had amnesia and couldn't remember anything about where or how the murder happened.
Mrs. Cladis
The mother of Arthur Cladis. She believes that Audrey drove her son into trying to kill himself. She accosts Audrey at the hospital and only backs down when Malek convinces her to go spend time with her son instead.
Imprisoned Woman
An imprisoned woman from Audrey's childhood.
Furius
One of the Astrea's Detective Agency's superiors.
Somnus
One of the Astrea's Detective Agency's superiors.
