Please note: this book is ongoing so this page is constantly updated as we learn more about this character.
About Leo/Aslan[]
Leo/Aslan appears as a character in two different timelines: as an adult in present-day Romania and the United States, and as a young man at the time of the 15th-century Ottoman Empire. During the course of the story we learn that Aslan is Leo's past life.
Present-day Laia, the main character you play as in this book, meets Leo Nolan in Bucharest, Romania, where she had travelled on holiday with her sister Millie. Leo barges into her bedroom one night looking for his cat Nosferatu who had gotten lost. Despite the fact that this was their very first encounter, Laia's sister Millie already knew Leo because his sister Cathy is her classmate and friend, back in the United States where they all live.
In the 15th century, Lale - Laia's past life incarnation - and Aslan are childhood friends living at the court of the Ottoman sultans, where Aslan is an orphan prince who had been kept at court after his homeland was conquered. When he enlists in the Ottoman army, he also bonds with Vlad, a young captive Valahian prince also living at the Sultan's court after his own homeland was defeated.
Pursuing a relationship with Leo/Aslan will affect romantic relationships with other characters. If you decide to romance him, certain scenes/options with Vlad and Sandra will be affected, or not be available. If you decide to romance both Vlad and Leo/Aslan, in Season 2, Episode 6 you will be asked to take a final decision between the two.
Please note: Your romantic choices in the present affect the past and vice versa. You cannot romance two different people in the two different timelines.
Leo lives in Lastville, the same city where Laia and her sister Millie live, with his sister Cathie, Millie's classmate and friend, and his beloved Sphynx cat Nosferatu. He works at a security firm. His father left when he was 13, and his mom took it hard. She would sit all day long and stare at the TV. Leo had to grow up early and take care of both her and his sister Cathy. A man called Matt spotted his sports skill, supported and mentored Leo, and helped him with his career. Matt's daughter Nela (S1, EP3) is now Leo's boss after Matt died.
Leo meets MC at the Vampire's Den Hotel in Bucharest when he accidentally barges into her bedroom at night looking for his cat. He is in Bucharest to allow Nosferatu to spend time with his Romanian cat relatives, since he comes from a Romanian noble family. Allegedly Nosferatu had been depressed for the past six months, and an animal behaviourist suggested being close to his family might help. This reason, however might not be as truthful as it seems, but we haven't discovered all details yet.
Leo is a soft-spoken, generous yet mysterious person. When he meets Laia, he starts flirting with her almost immediately, despite the fact that he didn't remember their common past yet. He is very protective towards those he cares about. Laia describes him as prickly, and he responds that it's only on the outside, as he's soft and fluffy at heart.
Aslan is a captive orphan living at the Sultan's court, the son of a defeated king. Not much else is known, however as the story goes on, it is strongly eluded to that he is a related to Skanderbeg and possess magical power. Lale and Aslan spent their childhood together and even study together. He is Lale's best friend and has romantic feelings for her, however if you choose to have Lale reciprocate Vlad's feelings instead than Aslan's, he will put aside his own desires to be a good friend to both of them. Aslan also grows very close to Vlad, together with whom he serves in the Ottoman army. In S2E2, Aslan tells her a legend from his childhood;
-Once, there was a girl. So tiny and fragile, yet very brave, not afraid of anything. One day she was walking through the fields and went really far. And she met the sun! She immediately fell in love with it - it was so bright, warm, and shiny. The sun loved the tiny, brave girl back, and it asked her to be its wife. She said yes and went to say goodbye to her family. But her family wasn't overjoyed at the news. "Marrying the sun? How could it be possible? It'll never happen!" They locked her up in a dark cellar, but she escaped. Her angry family chased her, ready to kill her, just not to give her away to the strange groom. But she turned into a bird and flew up to her beloved one. They only managed to tear a piece of her dress from behind before she turned. That's why the bird has such a strange torn tail.- Which will be repeatedly referenced throughout their relationship.
Aslan shares many traits in common with Leo, including his generosity and selflessness. When he gets close to Vlad, not only Lale, the three of them become bonded together by a strong friendship. Depending on your choices, Aslan and Laia can start a romantic relationship or they can remain as close friends.
At the moment, Leo has remembered his past life and has some mysterious task to complete on behalf of his security firm called Tetra.
In Season 2, Episode 8, during a phone call between MC, Sandra and Ilinca, it is revealed that MC's fate is connected to Leo and Vlad by the Threads of Fate. This bound was not created by a magic ritual but it was born on its own due to the deep devotion between the three of them.
In Season 3, Episode 3, Nela suspends Leo from his job at Tetra for compromising the case. He was tasked with protecting the castle and Laia but failed to report any of the attacks that occurred and developed an emotional attachment to Laia in detriment to the case. Tetra attempts to kick Leo out of the castle but Vlad intervenes, inviting Leo to stay as a friend. Henry is hired on in his place to take on his assignment and live in the castle as it's guard.
Meanwhile, in the past, the camp that Aslan and Vlad are stationed at is attacked by Skanderbeg and his group. During the fight with Skanderbeg, his sword bounces off of Aslan's neck and flew out of Skanderbeg's hands. After that Skanderbeg and his men retreated while the sword remained with Aslan. The Sultan congratulates Aslan for his bravery and requests the sword for himself, much to Aslan's disappointment.
Back at the Palace with Lale, after Sandra gives her the letters from Vlad and Aslan, if you take Sandra's second diamond choice she tells MC a story she heard from Skanderbeg about the Liberator of Bulgaria. Skanderbeg explains that the sword he fights with was intended for the Liberator but he had died as a child from an Ottoman attack. The Liberator, known as Asen, was the grandson of the last tsar Constantine Asen. Elder Yaromir predicted Constantine's grandson would have higher powers and liberate the Bulgarian lands from the Ottomans. Six years after Constantine's death, Asen was born. Fear of rumors and the Ottomans discovering his existence, Yaromir went into hiding with Asen and had a sword forged for him, imbuing it with magical powers. Unfortunately, the Ottomans found the child and he died. Yaromir was able to escape and gifted Skanderbeg with the sword instead.
In Season 3, Episode 10, Aslan hears that the winner of an oil wrestling contest will receive the sword as their prize and he decides to enter the contest for it. Dependent on your choices, Aslan can either win or lose but either way, the sword is gifted to Mehmed.
In Season 3, Episode 11, Sandra has a vision of a man lying dead on the ground because his sword ended up in the hands of a powerful enemy. Initially Lale and Sandra believe that vision is about Skanderbeg but afterward they overhear the Sultan talking to Khalil Pasha about Aslan and the circumstances of how they found him. Khalil Pasha explains that there was a gang of fanatic Ottoman's trying to gain favor with the Sultan by attacking people and villages. The Sultan captured them and sentenced them to death but not before discovering they had a child with them, Aslan. His clothes were monogrammed with a Tsar emblem but they couldn't identify which Tsar bloodline he was from. The Ottomans had heard legends of a liberator of Bulgaria but did not believe them. The fanatic group had attempted to pierce Aslan with swords but he miraculously survived. After hearing this, Sandra believes that Aslan is Asen and that the vision she had of the dead man is of Aslan, not Skanderbeg.
In Season 3 Episode 14, it is discovered that when Sotet kidnapped Laia as a child, Leo had also shown up inexplicably and protected her during Sotet's ritual. In the present day, as he fights Vlad, who has been turned into a monster due to absorbing too much darkness in his body, Leo transforms into a golden warrior with a lion-themed sword and armor. The sword is Skanderbeg's sword and the one that Lale had gifted Aslan after retrieving it from Mehmed.
In Season 4 Episode 2, Laia overhears a conversation between Aquil and two members of the Council of Elysium where it is confirmed that Leo is a reincarnation of Aslan and a member of the Lion Clan within Tetra. During this conversation, she also learns that the Lion Clan has been undergoing a centuries long punishment that was caused by Aslan refusing to complete a mission in the past. Because of this, Aslan's soul was not meant to ever be reincarnated, however, someone higher up in the Bright World interfered and allowed for him to be reborn as Leo in the present timeline. It is implied that this is due to Aslan having been Lale's protector in the past.
In Season 4 Episode 2, Leo accompanies Laia to Turkey for an art and culture event where they stay with the Soydan family who are in possession of the seventh painting.
The story is ongoing.
