Anna is a love interest in the book Heaven's Secret: Requiem.
About Anna
Anna is a young woman who is part of Dmitry's squad. She first talks to Lane (main character) in the restroom of Rotkov’s estate, but it is mentioned that she was the one who changed Lane's clothes when she arrived unconscious from the rift.
She is in Rotkov a little over a month, but thinks the days there drag on forever. Her body looks strong and hardened by the many challenges she had to face in this devastated world. But she is not in the squad as a soldier, her strengths lie elsewhere: she is a scientist specializing in medical microbiology and infectology.
Anna wants more independence. She is proud and doesn’t hide what she is thinking. She hates the feeling of being second-guessed, and after been rejected by her squadmates, she starts to see in Lane someone who can support her. Although Lane wants to use this to her advantage, to weaken Dmitry's authority over Anna and make it easier for her to reach both of them, the player can choose to improve or not the relationship between the two women (romantic or friendly).
In S1 finale, it is revealed that Anna is Dmitry's sister. And this explains the fraternal protective behavior that one has for the other. In fact, Anna thinks Dmitry just sees her as someone who needs to be protected. The fact is that he doesn’t trust the rest of the world. Dmitry is used to relying on himself, so he wants his sister to be close. He hopes that he can save her, protect her. He is afraid of someday failing to protect Anna.
If you take her diamond scene from S2, Ep1 you discover that when Anna was a child, her father hated when she and Dmitry drew any kind of attention. Anna saw it as if he was ashamed of both of them – and that feeling was passed down to her, so she tried her best not to be weird.
Anna always carries with her a small box with syringes filled with a greenish liquid that helps immortals heal their injuries. Anhea and Pileon are in the squad because of this serum. If you buy the diamond scene from S2, Ep5 you find out that they were hit by the energy wave when the Mother of Life disintegrated, and that these scars never heal - only the squad’s serum allows them to close temporarily. It’s like a painkiller, and Anna is personally responsible for these vials. Donovan keeps the formula a secret, that was part of the Adam project she led. Somehow, the Siberia base managed to get a substance not from the human world. They created a weapon against the immortals from it, and then Donovan developed the “medicine”.
If you take her diamond choice from S2, Ep6 Anna confides in Lane a story from her past which made the squad not like her very much at first. At Adam base there is a collapsed wing with passages leading to abandoned laboratories. It was dangerous to go there, so Donovan banned them; but Anna was in them when another collapse occurred. There were infected on the lower floors, she couldn’t get out from under the rubble, but Dmitry saved her. He got hurt badly, his condition was critical, they gave him a lot of stitches. Anna feels very guilty about this incident.
