Alexander Nielsen (or simply Alex) is a love interest in the book Chasing You.

About Alexander

Alex is a handsome young man that the Main Character (MC) Agatha Harris (Default Name) runs over unintentionally at the beginning of the book. He is the first character she interacts with in the story and at first, she thinks he is just a stranger. But soon the MC finds him again at the mansion of her aunt (Annette Silver Harris), where Alexander has been for a month as the protégé of Frederick. After Annette's mysterious death, Alex begins to help the MC try to find the culprit while they also try to prove her innocence.

He is the heir to a famous and wealthy family in Sweden. It is revealed in the course of the story that he went with Frederick to the United Kingdom at the request of his mother, but that he stayed there, in addition to helping the MC, to avoid his mother and his responsibilities in the family business. He is the owner of a shipyard.

In the 💎 scene in Season 2, Episode 8, we learned the backstory of Alexander's father - Ulrik Nielsen. In the scene, Ulrik was working with the local police of dealing with drug cartel around the area. Alexander was a curious child with a detective mind, so he followed his father to the crime scene. When they were discovered, the young Alex got stabbed by one of them and Ulrik had died protecting his son. It left Alexander a scar on his left stomach, as a memento of his father's love and his guilt for his death.

Alexander is a sarcastic and cynical person. He is adventurous and doesn't like following the rules. At first, he's quite rude towards Agatha and Samuel and seems to avoid Rachel at all costs. He began to warm up to them a little in the later chapters and became protective of the MC, even more so if the player chooses him as her main love interest.

If you decide to romance Alex, in the diamond scene of Season 3, Episode 4 you can discover that his mother is a businesswoman to the last fiber of her soul, and a couple of years ago, she started to actively fight for the social status of their Knight's House. At the beginning of that spring, she started talking about a marriage of convenience of her son to the head of another house. Alexander says he could accept the new marriage if it was out of love, but like that... it was disgusting for him. Rachel tried to reconcile them, but his mother kicked him out of the country so that he wouldn't get in the way. And when they returned to Sweden, Rachel talked his mother out of this decision.

Samuel Makoto: From rival to friend. Sam is a policer officer turns private investigator. They partner to protect the MC. Alexander likes to call him "Baby Sammy" and teases him at every chance. But they somehow become friend along the way.
Rachel Lind: Childhood friend and a business partner from Sweden. Rachel admitted that she was in love with Alexander since she was 9 years old. Although he did not develop a romantic feeling towards his childhood friend, Alex cares for her and supported her decision during her difficult time, furthermore accompanied her to the hospital to do the surgery (Rachel's diamond scene on Season 2, Episode 3).
Olivia: Mother. She calls him "pineapple".

He seems like a vicious beast, but he is much easier to tame than a wolf. Oh, I don’t know who he is, but he is difficult for you. But... there won’t be another more faithful than him. In the diamond scene of Season 3, Episode 4 you can ask Alexander when he realized he loved you: "In the hut in the forest. When I realized that we were all kidnapped, but you weren't there. My heart almost stopped."
Alexander's look was based on a real-life friend of the writer of Chasing You. According to her: "Not only he knows, but most of our friends know :D and he always gets shy when this is brought up, but I know he secretly enjoys it, just like Alex would ;)"^[2]

In Season 3, you can choose to follow the path of Kindness or Callousness. Although in the path of Kindness it is easier for you to get a happy ending, if you choose the Callousness route you can also make your love interest survive as long as you have a strong enough relationship and you make the right choices in the last episode.
