Adil is a love interest in the book The Desert Rose.

About Adil[]

Adil first appears when he shows up at the home of Yasmin demanding Zuleika to tell him his fortune.

After Ali, Adil's adoptive father, finds Yasmin passed out in the poor quarters, he brings her to his tent. When Yasmin wakes up, Adil is there to greet her. Adil is a Bedouin (a nomadic Arab who inhabit the desert region). He was an orphan on his own when Ali found him and took him in. Ali describes him as even tempered yet argumentative. Adil hosted Yasmin at his tent with Ali until she needed to return home. He accompanied her on his camels.

Later, Yasmin will find him playing music in the square with some friends and you can choose to sing along with him to one of the songs. Near the vendors, Yasmin overhears Adil talking to his friend about something curious and when he speaks to her he will act as if this is the last time he'll see her. The mystery is solved when Yasmin overhears Zain talking to someone on the phone about a man named Adil getting arrested for trying to bomb someone's home.

Adil discovered that Ali was going to be punished for a crime he did not do and Adil took the blame to save him. He gets taken to a detention center called "Qahwa." It is an isolation ward for dangerous criminals amidst the Atlas Mountains, almost impossible to escape. Fortunately, Yasmin's father discovers his innocence and Adil is released. Your choices impact whether he is tortured or not before he's released.

At the end of Season 1, depending on how close you are with Adil, either himself, Rajab, or Madi will reveal themself as the Rebel. It is discovered that Adil was originally the only Rebel, but when he was arrested, Rajab and Madi took over and intended to continue his legacy if Adil was executed.

Thanks to Yasmin's help, Adil is released from prison and is able to continue his mission to help the people under Saleh's rule. At the end of Season 2, Adil helps Yasmin and Zuleika escape from their home while it's under attack. If you are romancing him, he will confess to Yasmin that his real name is Caleb Raul Hernandez, the older brother of Jack Hernandez. He was in the accident that killed their father but he managed to survive when he was found by Ali and healed.

Rajab fell on some fresh fruit and the old merchant was terribly angry that Rajab had spoiled some of the goods and scared away the buyers. For a whole week, Adil and Rajab worked for free in the shop, and the stubborn camel achieved his goal: none of Adil’s friends have ridden him ever since.[1]

Possible Endings[]

  • Good Ending (Romance Path)
    • The Desert Flower Path - The couple stay in Sefer and get married. Adil becomes the leader of the Bedouins. They later have a daughter named Nafisa, after MC's late mother.
    • The City Kid Path - MC goes to Paris alone to study. One day Adil surprises her in Paris and he stays with her to study political science. They later have a daughter named Nafisa, after MC's later mother.
    • Adil/Zain Love Triangle
      • Choose Adil - MC continues seeing Adil behind Zain's back. MC can choose to tell Zain the truth and they will get divorced. MC leaves him for Adil. This unlocks one of the good endings mentioned above.
      • Choose Zain - MC stops seeing Adil and stays married to Zain. This unlocks one of the good endings mentioned on Zain's page.
  • Good Ending (Friendship Path)
    • Adil becomes the new leader of the Bedouins. You can also choose to set him up with Gurub.
  • Bad Ending:
    • Adil/Zain Love Triangle
      • Choose Adil - MC wants Zain to save Adil but Zain refuses. MC flees to try and save him herself but Adil and MC are executed together. Zain visits her grave.
      • Choose Zain - MC does not go to Adil's execution. She has changed and hates herself for being so weak. She goes to Zain later and they have a very rough sex scene. Afterwards she burns all the archives with the medical information about the virus.
    • Friendship Path - Adil, Madi, and Rajab are executed in the square.
